AquaLOCK® permanent flood doors · Toronto & GTA

Flood doors that protect the opening without turning it into a temporary barrier project.

AquaLOCK flood doors combine an everyday exterior door with a purpose-built flood-protection assembly. Flood Ready measures, specifies, supplies and installs them for GTA homes and properties.

Best for

Basement walkouts, side entrances and exterior doors exposed to surface water.

If water collects in a stairwell, driveway, side yard or low exterior landing, a conventional door is usually not designed to resist the resulting water pressure. A flood door addresses the opening directly.

  • Walkout basement doors
  • Low side or rear entrances
  • Doors at the bottom of exterior stairs
  • Mechanical / utility-room entrances
  • Commercial or institutional exterior doors

Manufacturer product capabilities

Built as a flood-protection system, not simply a weather door.

AquaLOCK’s manufacturer material describes custom-made door configurations, multiple installation positions, locking choices, thermal options on applicable variants and externally tested flood resistance.

1

Custom fabrication

The door is specified around the opening and installation detail rather than treated as an off-the-shelf slab.

2

Tested assemblies

Manufacturer documentation includes flood-resistance and certification records for applicable AquaLOCK door configurations.

3

Daily use

Because protection is integrated into a permanent door, the system is available without installing a loose panel before every storm.

Design depth must be project-specific.

Manufacturer literature references door designs for substantial water columns, including configurations tested at multi-metre levels. Flood Ready does not assume the maximum rating applies to every opening; final product selection, frame, substrate and design water level must be confirmed for the project.

The Flood Ready process

From photos to a measured flood-door project.

1

Send opening photos

Show the door, threshold, adjacent walls and where water approaches.

2

Confirm dimensions

We review approximate dimensions first, then complete or coordinate project measurement as required.

3

Specify the configuration

Opening direction, frame position, finish, hardware and protection requirements are matched to the site.

4

Supply & installation

Installation details, sealing surfaces and homeowner operation are reviewed at handover.

Technical evidence

Manufacturer certificates are available before purchase.

We have included reference certificates supplied in the manufacturer archive so clients, consultants and property managers can review applicable AquaLOCK documentation.

Flood-door questions

Answers property owners usually need before ordering.

Is an AquaLOCK flood door a “waterproof door”?

It is more accurate to call it a tested flood-resistant door system. Performance depends on the exact AquaLOCK configuration, frame, seals, installation substrate and design water level. We confirm the project specification instead of promising that every door is absolutely waterproof under every condition.

Can a flood door replace the exterior door at a basement walkout?

Often, yes. Basement walkouts and doors at the bottom of exterior stairs are among the most common locations we assess. Clearances, opening direction, threshold conditions and the surrounding wall still need to be checked.

What is the difference between a flood door and a removable flood barrier?

A permanent flood door integrates flood resistance into a daily-use door assembly. A removable barrier such as AquaLOCK Quickwall is installed across the opening when protection is needed. The better choice depends on the opening, how it is used and whether someone will reliably deploy a barrier before a storm.

Where does Flood Ready supply AquaLOCK products?

Our standard AquaLOCK territory is the Greater Toronto Area. We do not market or supply into other territories unless AquaLOCK and Flood Control Canada explicitly approve the project.

Protect the opening before the next storm.

Send the opening location, approximate width/height and a few photos. We’ll confirm whether an AquaLOCK permanent door, garage system, Quickwall or another flood-control measure is the right starting point.
